This was a tough addition to the series. Sadly Jessica had been tortured and abused by the sadistic vampire that waa her master and was ready to die after killing him and be hunted as she was illness claiming her after. Her damaged mind followed a 300 yr old journal to the desert where she believed the writer to rest in her tomb, only to discover another vampire who claimed her to save her life. The story is learning trust and to love beyond the horrible hurt that has scared both these flawed characters. Along with all the kinky vampire tie me up stuff that's in these books.
