The was a good 1st book to start a series. The world building was unique and interesting. In this future there are noble vamps, noble outcasts and fringe vamps that are descended from Judas. This world also has fae, hellhounds, ghosts and Comarre which are human hybrids bred to provide the purest and most powerful blood to the nobles that can afford them. Chrysabelle has just finished her 100 years of service when her patron is killed and she flees to clear her name from the murder. Of course there is a baddie b!#€h on her tail trying to frame her for political gain and the ring to fulfill an evil prophesy. This leads C to her retired mentor and then a rouge vamp Malkolm and his misfit crew for help. Lots of twists and turns, implied steam, mostly UF, and its a series I plan to continue with.
